The time has come for the people of Fort Berthold to answer a serious question. Do we really need a Tribal Business Council?
There has been talk of a new Constitution that has Separation of Powers similar to the United States Constitution but this system also allows for corruption. The current system of the MHA nation does not protect the people. Do we really need a Tribal Business Council?
The current system allows Conflict of Interest, Unethical practices, Corruption, Nepotism, Civil Rights Violations, Election Fraud, and no Accountability. Do we really need a Tribal Business Council?
The current system creates division among families and enrolled members. The system also causes fear in people. People are afraid to speak up against wrongdoing because they are afraid they could lose their jobs or other opportunities to better their lives. Do we really need a Tribal Business Council?
The current system has 95% of our Revenues used on Administrative costs. The jobs and the opportunities are given to the Political supporters and Relatives. The other 5% goes to the people who are unable to care for themselves. Do we really need a Tribal Business Council?
The current system only allows for Corporate Economic Development and no small businesses for enrolled members. The current system spends more money than it brings in so borrowing is causing a 100+ million dollar debt. The non-native business owner and the border towns are laughing at our squabbling all the way to the bank. Do we really need a Tribal Business Council?
The current system does not allow equal representation from each of the three tribes. The system does not have 3 representatives from each tribe to develop self sufficiency for their respective Tribe. Do we really need a Tribal Business Council?
The current system does not hold our Tribal representatives accountable for not looking out for the people. The system does not share all revenues equally. Do we really need a Tribal Business Council?
The current system does not have term limits or recall so the same people who got us into debt are free to spend and take advantage of the poor for votes. Do we really need a Tribal Business Council?
